The winter turns the Whitsunday islands into a wonderland. The mild, sunny days are perfect for walking. The National Park tracks are almost exclusively accessible by boat, making this trip unique. Join a group of like-minded walkers as you hike to amazing views of the islands and the azure waters of the Whitsundays.
The Cruise - Sunshine and Whales
Winter in the Whitsundays is almost perfect. From June to October each year, temperatures average 24 to 25 degrees, it seldom rains. Humidity is low, and the sky is an amazing blue that locals call Instagram Blue. Add whales, and you have the perfect backdrop to a winter getaway.

Annual school trips on Solway Lass have become a tradition for schools across Australia. From three to seven nights, groups of 20 to 30 students experience Solway Lass as their floating classroom. There are limited opportunities available in the next year.

"This is my second time on the Solway Lass, I said I’d come back one day when I had kids and 8 years later they loved it as much as me!! The food was perfect for both adults and kids with more than enough for seconds, the bar was very well priced and stocked. The staff were engaging, helpful, great with the kids and super friendly. The cabins are comfy enough, tiny but that’s to be expected on a ship of that age. So much history, Lots of activities and lots of chill time. Whitehaven beach was amazing! Would recommend this trip to anyone!"

"Your " Walk the Whitsundays" was fabulous right from the beginning to the end. The little details you thought of, like having a stroll down to Solway Lace in the sunset, meeting the owner and the lovely welcome dinner which gave us the opportunity to talk to each other before the sailing trip was a great beginning. The trip itself was a wonderful mix of sailing, walking, snorkelling and enjoying the ride on the boat. The crew was extremely skilled, funny, very friendly and great support when needed. "Such an awesome experience! Myself, my husband and 3 friends booked this trip very last minute and did not know what to expect but we were not disappointed. The staff were so accommodating, Dan kept us entertained from the get-go. Shout out to Sully who made the most incredible food, catering for all dietary requirements and not a chance of us getting hungry as he was always cooking up a storm. Beth the sweetest barmaid makes incredible cocktails. Skipper Reece and deckhand Ross such nice guys who gave us great local tips.All in all, it was a great experience, we felt incredibly lucky to have such a good group of people on the same trip as us. Everyone up for having a good time and some drinks but yet it wasn’t a party boat.Thanks again!
